Wind River Rocks!
Been meaning to visit this place since i was a kid! Summer is rolling along, with no real extended vacation in sight, so i used a long weekend to make a quick scouting trip up north to whet my appetite. It did not dissapoint--im already thinking of a winter return for some skiing!
Here's Green River Lakes, one of only a couple locations that don't require multi-day backpacks to access.

Clouds would have been nice, but ill take 70 degrees and sunny!
On the trail, butterflies were a-flutter over the meadows.

Sunsets weren't half bad either! Fremont Lakes region.

Nice shots Stan. I like the first one best. I'm looking forward to getting up there next year. BTW, the best way to get to some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen up there is horse packing.

Cheers,

Thanks, wow im just impressed Todd knew Squaretop--i had never heard of it before this weekend, it reminds me a lot of half dome. Mark; true, although after walking through miles of stock trail i really wanted to kill (and maybe eat) all horses

That first one is really sweet, Stan. I've been there a couple of times and will definitely go back. Most of my time has been in the southern half, down in the Bridger Wilderness; looks like I need to get up to the northern part, too. Thanks for sharing!

This is the place for a Canoe. I went there once with two husky sons to do the paddling.
At the head of the lake, we switched to 3 paddling up to the next lake. We finally had to
give up and attach ropes to the canoe, and line it up the Green River. It is one of the
most beautiful places in the lower 48.
