Haven't posted for a while as I have not been out to photo anything so this is one from last year... just to keep up with the wintry theme. Looking forward to covering the rut (properly) for the first time
in three years.
Taken from the car during a 2006 trip to the Highlands. It was as cold as it looked (even in the car) but well worth getting stuck in the snow and having a mild panic attack!
Hi Elliott,
I think this is stunning, the snow covered surroundings, the positioning of the animal, the eye contact, the crop. The frame and title just finishes it off perfectly giving a very professional and well thought out presentation.

Hi Elliott
Yep, I agree with the above comments, a superb wildlife image. Great composition and presentation. The snowy wintery scene works so well here. Great stuff.

Elliott,
This is excellent.
I like the way the image fades to pure white towards the bottom, really helps frame it.

Thanks for all the kind words. This is probably my favourite wild stag image. To me, it screams wilderness. The foreground has been enhanced with bit of cloning and white graduated filter layer. I really wanted that diffused look but the snow was melting and the tussock grass was pushing through so it was not as pure white as I would have liked. Looking forward to heading back to the Highlands this winter... please, please, please can we have a good dump of snow!!!! Thanks for commenting

Stunning image - looks like everyone agrees! (And a very nice article in September's Practical Photography too - just came across it - I'm going to have to try Richmond Park!).
