Harris and Lewis are pretty good for Golden Eagle and Otter so I would suggest a long lens and an early start.
Harris (esp. north) is mountanious and which means access off the road is hard.
Lewis will have some birdlife on the machair and waders on the beach, again a long lens would be required. What might be worth looking for is Artic Skua along the open ground just west of Stornaway.
For landscapes you just can't go wrong here - almost everywhere is oozing with potential. Tristan

coastal walks on the south of Harris are pretty dramatic, lots of seals and gannets, potential for dolphins but didnt see any, although we passed a Minke whale while on the ferry over from Ullapool but my long lens was down in the car deck
Beautiful scenery especially on drive down to Harris

Any help with locations and what I might encounter would be helpful.
