Messing around aimlessly with B&W conversions in Lightroom.

Mark, looking at this image I feel the FG needs to be burned down some. And the mountain needs to be brought up a little (and or increase the contrast). To me I feel the FG is commanding as much or more of my attention than the mountain, and I know the mountain should be the primary interest. Other than that I like the comp though!

I agree with Adrian about the FG brightness. I'd like to see the snow toned down just a tad too. Maybe just some more fiddling with the bw conversion. I think a crop just below the bottom-most tree could be beneficial too. Looks like the components are there for some impact if you were to spend a bit more time tinkering. I struggle with bw conversions too so, I can't give much detailed help!

This is a good candidate for converting, Mark - a very powerful view of the mountain that is enhanced by the starkness of B&W. I'd also echo Adrian's comments - and possibly cropping off the bottom by about 1/10 to bring the focus up to the mountain. I'm not so much distracted by the brightness of the foreground rock as the amount of it.
