Enchantments
A grab shot from the Enchantments a few years back. I would have prefered a slower shutter speed for the water, but my dad and I were hustling to get out of there our last day. (Nikon F100, 24mm lens, polarizer, Velvia).

I was planning on going down to the Sierras last week, but decided against the drive. I just returned from the Enchantments with eight rolls to develop (tomorrow). No surprise, there were virtually no wildflowers. Very disconcerting, the mountain goats have become fearless in their pursuit of salt. We had 16 of them in camp one afternoon, lounging next to our tent, chewing their cud.

It was a beautiful trip, but the sky never gave up a cloud. Other than intimate landscapes, I find the area difficult to photograph, because much of it falls into shadows hours before sunset (or remains in shadows hours after sunrise). It'll be interesting to see what I got.

A very different take on one of my favorite areas. Makes you wonder where that water is coming from.
