More Wildflowers Please.
I think there's a serious lack of wildflower shots on this forum this year! Yeah, I'm weeks behind in processing too. And people are already thinking yellow leaves.

But here's one of mine, and PLEASE feel free to add a favorite or two from your travels this summer. I certainly did not get to see a lot of flowers this year! I know you can help me.

Nice shot Jesse.

Here's a shot from just off Painted Rocks Rd. north of Woodland Park. Best wildflowers I've seen there in several years.

I'll sign up for this. Here's one for Tony L. I know you're lurking out there... This was taken just after the Good Light left and the Bad Light started to set in; my first trip up to Shrine Ridge ever, and I had chosen to stop at what looked to be a good meadow for sunrise. After I had taken some good shots, I continued exploring up the path, and Tony had just come down the path after what must've been a killer sunrise on the top. We met at the boulders just below the final ascent to the ridge, and this patch of Columbine, Chiming Bells and Lichen was an immediate draw. The image was just barely within the exposure range of my D2X; Velvia would have been nigh-on impossible.

Hope you don't mind wildflowers with a little stream thorn in for good measure. Taken near Independence Pass.

I wanna play! Here's one from the La Platas, a twice-processed image image of Sharkstooth Peak.

I'll bite! You motivated me to jump into my Stony Pass shots, Jesse! But I was up until 2am

As most who were there know, the paintbrush were off the hook! I had to post a trio:

A little bit of everything : Stony Pass

My wife, Kim, spotted these columbine as we were coming down Stony Pass, back to Silverton. I don't think I've seen all-purple columbine before.

Cool, I get to post a few pics that have been gathering dust in my hard drive. First, a macro from the Snowy Range....

Well, it's come to my attention that I didn't take very many flower pictures this year. This is the best I managed.

I processed this a few weeks ago and might have used a touch or ortinization (can't recall). Near Hagerman Pass.

Nice bunch of flowers guys! I missed the bulk of the flower season. This was a catch at Kite Lake with Mt Democrats false summit in the BG.

Sadly, I don't have a single wildflower shot from this season. Fortunately, I can live vicariously through these here. Thanks for sharing, and keep 'em coming!

West Fork of the Cimmarron

Just after I took this, I met some scruffy guy named Bret on the trail  and we huffed-and-puffed up to West Fork Pass at 12,600 ft. Good times, good friends and beautiful mountains - doesn't get much better than that!

Dave, that's a stunning DOF on that Columbine! Love seeing all of these, and keep 'em coming.

i'm a bit late in replying, but Jesse's 1st photo makes me want to run through the grass singing "The hills are alive, with the sound of music!" Just call me Maria. Excellent shot!!

here's one from my first attempt at American Basin back in July.

Too many great shots here to comment on each!! Very cool.

Thanks Amy. Funny ... my usual suspect of a hiking partner Kevin was doing the same thing ... carelessly bounding through the meadow in gleeful song.

I kid, I kid. But it is a nice segway into this shot of him in the very same meadow.

I cropped this shot into a pano (Bells and sky blown). Taken at Maroon lake in July.
Enjoy!
