BIG NEWS about Rocky Fork, TN!
The Conservation Fund has signed a purchase contract (35 to 40 million dollars) for Rocky Fork! All of our time and energy has been rewarded by this purchase! There's still a few hurdles to cross but we are well on our way. So, for all that can give I'd recommend giving to the CF, they truly care about our wild places! As you might remember, the Nature Conservancy would not give us any help! I WILL NEVER give the TNC another dime nor will I ever promote them for anything again.
Soon the logging operations will stop and the forest will once again heal it's devastating wounds. This is the biggest "10,000 acre private land" grab for conservation to happen in the Southern Appalachians in years! Conservation is still alive and well in our mountains of the Southeast! It's a great day for all that live to protect our wildlands!
Thanks to all NPN members that sent letters for our fight!

Wow...that's amazingly cool Jerry. You should host an NPN photo day there or something (although you might have to limit it so too many photogs don't go trampling the whole place to nothing. )

Jerry,
I took applaud the efforts of CF and must admit being from Indiana have not followed this issue at all. Which leeds me to this question - In your opinion where did TNC fall down or what was thier reasoning? I have been somewhat involved with TNC in Indiana and they have done somt GREAT work here as well as other places. I'd hate to think your comments might dampen any support they may need in thier efforts in other places where nobody else is minding the store so to speak.
