Training for work has taken most of my time here lately, but as usual, I take my camera with me on most trips. This is a shot from Richmond, VA last week during a pretty intense thunderstorm. This is about as close to nature as I have been here lately. In a hotel room looking out the window. :frown:

Sweet first post, Darrin. Awesome bolts.

Let me be the first to say - Welcome to a terrific forum. I recently joined NPN too.

The people here are the best, the expertise is top shelf, and the photos are simply terrific. I hope you keep posting.

Great shot Darrin! I'd be tempted to crop out the very bottom strip of a building (motel?). To me, that puts a little more emphasis on the lightning bolt. :toast:

Cool capture! What kind of training takes you traveling? In my experience the best sunrises/sunsets happen when I am stuck at work-12 hr shifts

I agree with Alice. Crop out that bottom building and it improves an already striking (I didn't just type that, did I) image! Nice work.

I like the pun Richard!! Leann, I now work for the Department of Health up here in VA. I am an environmental health specialist and a few times a year they send us to a different location in the state for some type of training. I like the new found freedom....before I was a state game warden....and worked all but three weekends, and ALL holidays. That didn't leave much time for play. Anywho...here is a cropped version per yall's suggestions.
