Brian (my shooting partner who is still too chicken to post a shot) and I will be at MRNP this weekend. If anyone is going to be in the area, keep an eye out for a couple tripods topped with DRebels.

I know the flowers are probably done, but there's more to shoot up there than just flowers. If anyone has advise for us, we'd love to hear it. Since my new knee allows me to hike again, :jump: I can get to some of the better vantage points.

I'd say considering the terrain, I'm good for about a 6-8 mile round trip...

I was gonna do Rainier this weekend, but the weather is suddenly making it look more like I'll be sleeping instead.
Well I guess sleeping isn't so bad...

Well I'm hoping the weather will bring some drama and mood to the landscape... hopfully it won't just be a continuous downpour

When I plan a trip I don't cancel unless there's an extremely compelling reason. a rain forcast for August isn't enough to deter me. If it was September, I might consider it, but I figure this time of year there'll be some breaks in the weather.

If weather allows I might be up Sat dawn around Bench Lake / Snow Lake.

Right now weather looks not so promising at all though.

Take care

Mike

The weather looks great for some of those awesome alpine tree/meadow images that everyone loves. It was cloudy and rainy day with no sign of the mountain when I came upon that cool glacial cavern. I'd love to meet you up there, but my weekends are planned out for the next 5-6 weeks.

BTW: if anyone does make it up there, we'll be at Cougar Rock CG, site D27.

Hey guys I was up there last weekend in the paradise area and the flowers are pretty much gone ( well to start with there weren't much this year ) but the changing weather offered some great photo ops. I didn't have a chance to take out my camera but the fog covered meadows were very surreal and best of all there were hardly any people around on a Sunday - so bad weather can sometimes be a blessing in disguise.
