Feeding Barn Swallows
I took this at Quivira NWR Thursday evening. There was a large flock of Barn Swallows, with a few juveniles still being fed. I was set up on this juvenile, caught a couple feeding sequences, then another vehicle came along and scared the flock. 30D, 500mm, f/8, 1/2000, ISO 640, slight crop. Thanks for looking.

WOW !! I like it.... That had to take some patience to set up and not spook the birds. The OOF background adds a lot to the focal point of the birds. :toast:

Thanks everybody. It has been fun but frustrating trying to catch this in action.

The muted color of the background compliments the birds wonderfully and the barb wire fence gives it a unique and dynamic feel. Great job!!!!!

Love this shot Rob. I like the action, the focus on the eye, and it bring back memories of the barnyard growing up. There would be juveniles on the wires, adults dive bombing the cats, and everywhere you could hear their constant twittering. FWIW I saw barn swallows in Scotland when we went there in May.
