A super image of this fantastic DF, I do feel however that the image is actually only the top half. crop to the full width and it is much stronger, plus the perch doesn't come out of the corner, it is much more comfortably 'grounded' part way into the frame rather than from a corner.
I'm prob being over critical at the moment, its a really nice image, with a great bg and subject.

Hi Andy
A lovely shot, great colour and detail. I prefer the 2nd post, I also feel in the first post the dragonfly is too near the top of the frame and the composition is not ideal. If anything I would just crop a fraction top and bottom from the 2nd post.

9 repliesCommon Darter , photographed at Potteric Carr this afternoon , really liked the look of it's perch against the green BG.

Just read my reply.... wasn't very clear was I
Stuart had it right, to crop the bottom away about 3/4 to an inch below the tail of the DF...
Like the way the plant angles and tapers to the creatures feet
Nicely done
Alan
Thanks for the comments.
Kind regards
Andy...
Apart from you being a bit closer to your target, it's a great image. I like how close colour-wise perch and Darter are.
Cheers,
