Night photography is unpredictable, hard to focus in and imperfect beauty IMO. Lake James on a southern summer night with storm clouds passing over the brightg moon. Wind made this hard to get the trees sharper and of course the long exposure makes for noise but all things considered an image either works or it doesn't. I like it and would like to hear your thoughts.
Canon 400D,18-55mm,ISO 100,150 secs@ f11,handheld  ok yes a tripod and remote release

Very cool shot Leann - i especially like the fallen trees on the bottom right and to me there doesn't seem to be any major blur in the trees. Nice!

Love the title! I like the fallen trees on the right and the sky. Not sure about the trees on the left...they look a little off but not sure why. Looks like you got some moonbeams too, which add a nice touch. :wavey:

Eerie scene and light. The trees on the right look as if they are getting different illumination than the rest of the scene, such as car headlights or a spotlight. I like the moon rays and the light overall, but it feels like there is a lot of empty space as well near the center of the image.

Superb Leann! Great mood and light here, and not bad for handheld!

Great job! I cant believe you got that at ISO 100? Would have thought it would have taken a higher ISO. I have a kit lens too and I have never gotten a photo that great with it.
