Sunday morning view of the tundra near Hermit Peak), in soft sunrise light diffused by eastern clouds - and Kalin and Darren enjoying the scene somewhere nearby. Autumn is closing in above treeline! [canon 5d + tamron 28-75mm]

Jesse, Really like the layers, colors and texture you have going on here!
Very cool layers, light and especially the texture in the stone. Bring on autumn!

Nice, Jesse. I like the contrasting directional lines of the rock layers. I love the color of the tundra this time of year! I was up in Yankee Boy Basin yesterday (tried to hike Sneffels for sunset but got turned back by an evening lightning storm) - anyways the colors where awesome up there... just like this!
Lots of neat things going on with diagonals in this shot - the bedding layers of the rock, the intersection erosion channels, and then, on a larger scale, the shapes of the rock face and expanse of tundra. The soft lighting is perfect, bringing a warm glow to the turdra and allowing subtle tonal variations in the layered hills beyond. Another quietly stunning addition to your already impressive portfolio of tundra images.
Awesome shot Jesse. Just a beautiful location and a fantastic job seeing this comp. I have never been up on Hermit, but after seeing all the great shots from up there this year - it's on the short list now!
