PhotoCraft is no longer working with film. To my knowledge, this leaves Citizen's Photo as the last E6 lab in Portland. (Citizen's seriously botched a roll of 220 for me this morning, so I have doubts about them.)
I know a lot of pros send their E6 to Calypso and the like, but I'm not sure I'm ready to deal with FedEx or UPS just to develop film. It might be the last straw.
I suspect there will be a small film resurgence at some point, but it will be an expenseive, boutique industry. It's sad, because when the light is awesome and you nail the exposure, Velvia is absolutely breathtaking. Surely, I can't be the last landscape shooter who cares about film. Oh well...

Thats one of the reasons I am holding on to my F4s. Velvia is what makes it worth keeping...
I still have a couple bricks in the freezer with the pre paid mailers.......gotta love that!!!

Ian,
I photograph with 4x5 Velvia. I can't believe that PhotoCraft is no longer doing E6!! I used to go to Citizens and never had any trouble. But they did not have a good drop off arrangement like PhotoCraft had. Have you talked to anyone at Pro Photo Supply? I will in the morning. Perhaps Seattle is a possibility? Or I could just do my own like I did in the Navy back in the 70's!!! Not!!!
my thinking was that if fuji re-released velvia, there must be a demand and therefore money for them in it. if there is that demand, i would think the labs would stay in business
and yes pro sent their stuff to photocraft

Oregon Photo and Digital in Tualatin still does thier own processing, and they'll even push/pull. I used to take my film there when I lived in Tigard.
Thanks for the tips. Pro Photo Supply sent their E6 to PhotoCraft. I'm sure Citizen's has done great work for folks, but something went wrong with their processing yesterday, destroying two frames on each end of one of my 220 rolls. I'll call Pro Photo and find out where they'll be sending E6.

Photoregon in Eugene is also a good source for E-6 processing. Very prompt and good pricing. I have worked with them for years and have had very good success with them
i'll probably stick with citizens. i've always chosen the cheapest processing i could because eventually they all bugger something up, why pay premium price for your scratches and dents IMO

I just talked to Mike at Pro Photo. They are working to put togther a new arrangement, possible with Ivey Photo of Seattle to drop off our film at Pro Photo and they would deliver it for processing to Ivey Photo. Let's hope that works.

Darien,
The film that Michael mentioned is a re-release of Velvia 50. There is an article on the new film here http://www.viewcamera.com/ , requires subscription.

But I could be wrong. And if they did, they may have an alternative worked out somehow, hopefully.
