As I mentioned in the photo of Mount Garfield I posted last week, we went to Palisade, CO for the annual Peach Festival recently. During the festival we took a tour of one of the peach orchards. It was situated on a bluff overlooking the Colorado River and the town of Palisade. This was truly a sanpshot moment for me as I had the camera on Program mode and was just happily snapping away at stuff as we walked through the orchard. This image turned out so nice, I wanted to share it with everyone here. I did crop this down to 4x5 to remove some sky with no clouds.

Doug – I agree. That image is really nice! I am thinking this would make a great magazine cover.
Peaches in Colorado? I thought that was a Georgia staple.
Great Shot.

Doug, this is a great shot for a snapshot.
Rene, Colorado peaches are much better than that Georgia stuff (especially on a good year).

I can confirm what Mel said about Colorado peaches. I moved here from Georgia where we lived for eight years. Georgia peaches aren't even in the same league with Colorado peaches.

Colorado peaches are awesome!
Of course, I'm a bit biased since I grew up here and peaches bring back great childhood memories. My mom used to "can" the peaches in mason jars and freeze them. I will go to just about any length to get a bowl of french vanilla ice cream with half-frozen, canned, Colorado peaches on top. Yum!
Sweet shot, Doug! Another fan of CO peaches here. Must be something about cooler nights that makes them better!

It's the altitude - raises the sugar content somehow (so I've heard). Same w/ Olathe sweet corn! mmmm!
Can't see the pic here at work Doug but I'm sure it's nice!

Nice pic, Doug! You should have just told us it was a 4x5!
I just ate a Palisade peach - YUM!

Great "snapshot", Doug !
I think it's worth a drive to Grand Junction just for a crate of peaches.
Nothing I have ever bought in a grocery store comes close to those tree ripened peaches!
