To say these guys are challenging,is a bit of an understatement, but good experience.I am not sure what the ratio of shots taken ,to shots kept is,but I am glad I am not using film any more.I thought that it might be very helpful to all if members were to explain how they approach this sort of shot. For my own way I normally use manual focus,as auto never seems to be able to keep up with the dear little souls,or was that sods!!also I use a tripod with gimbal head.Ant thoughts would be appreciated...

I see this things buzzing around, and I don't see me taking photos of them doing it . Your attempt is just about right. On monitor it looks sharp and well positioned, and background is as good as one would like.
Always seemed like a big challenge to me. Whenever I've attempted it, not many come out sharp! Out of interest, what lens and aperture were you using Stewart?
You certainly nailed this one, with a great bg to boot!
Well thanks guys, some one asked for the techs:2.8@1/160,iso250,300mm 2.8lens...
I took for the record about 80 shots,of which about 5 were worth keeping,as this is the second year that I have been trying this I guess that the technique gets a little better each time
