I haven't checked my maps to see exactly where I was when I took this from the hwy. But I hope you enjoy it. Can't believe it's time to say, "last Spring," already...

A nice landscape, but the lighting seems a little flat/uninteresting to me.

That's a beautiful area Catherine and I can easily see why it struck you. I think just a little more work to make the colors and lighting pop would give this more impact. That one big tree, just right of middle, is a little distracting to me. Arranging the lighting to deemphasize it would help for me.
Amen to that, Jack!
How's this version?? I did a different crop, spruced it up a little and processed it with a much bigger wrench. I think it produced some more directional light and gave the landscape more dimension?
Thanks for the encouragement.

Catherine,
It is better but now I feel there might be a little too much foreground. Weve all been there, a beautiful scene in the middle of the day with harsh light. I probably would have also shot this just too see what would become of it.
