After looooooong wait and decent amount of polishing, I think that my web is finally prepared to be taken apart by you folks. So here it goes:

Hi Marko,
When I click on your link, as well as the opening page of your site (nice tree photo!), I get a message saying: `Do you want to allow this webpage to access your Clipboard? If you allow this, the webpage can access your Clipboard and read information that you`ve cut or copied recently."
I clicked "Don`t allow", and therefore cannot view anything on your site. :frown:

Now that's odd, Jeremy. I tried on few different computers, and could not replicate this message. I wonder, if home page link would do it for you.

Cheers,
Marko

Marko - I get the same in Internet Explorer 7 but not in Firefox, Safari (for Windows) or Opera. Unfortunately I can't test in previous versions of IE because I don't have them on this machine.

It works for me (Firefox), although it seems the "Author" section is not available in English. Also, both tours seem to be at the same time, with only slightly different wording describing them, which seems a bit odd.

Otherwise nice site, with some great images in the galleries.

No problems accessing myself, looking good, minor nit it is a typo, your link spelling should be "Galleries", not "Galeries"

There is some javascript on your homepage that attempts to clear the clipboard. I'm a website developer and have never come across this before. I'd be tempted to simply remove the script as it is very off-putting and could scare people away if they get a warning like that. The code is:

function no_cp()
{
clipboardData.clearData();setTimeout("no_cp()",100)
}
no_cp();

I assume it tries to clear the clipboard to prevent people copying and pasting - it is easy to get round so not worth the effort if you ask me.

On the website it looks nice - I'll have a much better look after work though.

Looks fine from here, Marko. Everything looks very good, intuituve and with nice phtoos. I was just wondering why the "about" is not in English ?

Agree with Tristan plus there might be a good reason for people to have stuff on their clipboard which I'm sure they might not be happy with losing. As I said on the "other site" IE7 has got some extra security that stops web sites interfering with the clipboard (to stop them poaching info from it) - so losing this peice of code might be the best way of keeping everyone happy

Thanks folks for all your suggestions. I obviously need to go back to computer and do my homework. And with everything you suggest, that will be easier task.

Tom and Helge: Author section is a tough one. I need to come out with something clever to put it in English.

Tom: Good job of finding wrong dates in workshop section.

Tristan: thank you for that. I skip that part of code. Can you suggest something tighter to prevent downloading?

Thanks again
Marko

Marko - you can't really prevent downloading. If I wanted to nick your images I'd just do a screen grab rather than copy and paste anyway and there is no way of preventing that. You can add a copyright watermark of some kind and add meta-data to mark the image as yours but again they can only take web-res images. You can't do a huge amount with small images so I dont worry about it much. But I'm not selling my work so perhaps I have a slightly different view on it.

Nicely laid out website-easy to naviagate and with some stunning images-works for me-will keep an eye on it to see new images :toast:

You can prevent downloading by displaying your images presented in a flash animation - many photographers do this.

Not always ideal as it doesn't make for convenient image tagging etc and of course, not everyone wants to use websites that require Flash installed.

It really isn't something to get too strung up about - as has been said, image quality is so low on the web that usage would be very limited.

Hi Marko,
I still get the same message using the homepage link you provided. Using Internet Explorer.

Nice galleries Marko, lovely images. However the navigation is a bit problematic and needs improving.

From the front page one sees:

GALERIES ARTICLES AUTHOR LINKS E-SHOP & WORKSHOPS

and if you click on GALERIES it takes you to the various galleries, and at the top of each of the gallery pages is the Gallery name but no sign of the other links, and there is no way to return to the front page that I could find in order to use them.

You should seriously rethink your navigation system. Ideally a user should be able to return to where they first started viewing your site in no more than two clicks of your navigation system (NOT using the back button). Any more clicks needed than that, or a dead end as you have at present, and you'll lose people. You have to remember that people might enter your site on any page, and if they cannot easily navigate from there to the front/home page, or any other page, then its not good.

I could not find any way to return to your Picture of the Month. And have you considered how the site will expand? When it does grow larger, how will your navigation system cope with this? Have yo got a way of archiving the Images of The Month so that people can browse them, say in December, and see all the ones for Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov etc? Or the ones from last year (once the site is older!)

It's not an easy task! I took loads of advice to get mine to a usable state, it's hard work but worth it!

Looks very professional Marko, and the textured neutral-coloured backdrops set your images off very nicely.

I shall leave the intricate fine-tuning tips to others more knowledgable than me, but it looks well on the way to being a fine showcase for your excellent work :toast: :toast:

Had a look at a few images Marko, but the clipboard thing is really distressing me :wink: I am having to say no twice to view each image in the gallery and twice if I submit and say Yes!! I'm using IE7. Look forward to viewing your stuff, but you need to get rid of that clipboard scripting

Thank you folks for suggestions. I have problems with home network and will implement some changes as soon as I'm able to connect to server again.
