Kingfisher and repost
I haven't posted for a while so thought I would post this image of a kingfisher that I took back in April, I had big plans but this pair failed to raise their young as the nest got flooded out during all the wet weather we have had during may and june.

Canon EOS 1d MkII, 500mm Lens, Hide, 1/250, f6.3, ISO Rating 200.

Cheers

Hi Danny

What can I say ..... superb seems an understatement.

Technically flawless, aesthetically very pleasing and cute too!

Now that's an unusual pose. For bird like kingfisher, one can sometimes forget, that they are also covered with feathers .

Lovelly photo and a lot of room for front page text .

Cheers,
Marko

Lovely cap Danny :toast:
Not too keen on the comp though - unless indeed it's for editorial

Danny,

Very nice - I actually don't mind the composition and those fluffed up feathers are wonderful.

Hi Danny

Long time no see. You know I am a big fan of your work and this is simply stunning. IMHO composition is superb and much more interesting than full frame. When you get a background as clean as this it makes sense to include as much as possible. Spot on.

All the best

Paul

A stunning shot Danny.
The fluffed-up feathers and the way they've caught the light make this one a bit special.
Like it a lot.

Superb pose and BG Danny. For me, the comp's unbalanced too, unless you had an editorial in mind.

Hi Danny I have looked at your picture a number of times the Bird is great and the BG is nice but I still cannot make up my mind about the crop. :toast:

Hi Danny - nice stuff as ever, and a different style/type of Kingfisher pic that has benefitted from the secondary crop imo.
