Okay im almost done posting my photos of Sparks Lake
This was taken on a nice summer afternoon when the flowers were abundant. I can't wait to return to this area and explore more of what the Cascades have to offer, especially in the snow.
Canon 30D (now broken!) , 17-40L, "cheap tripod".
Thanks for looking!

I think you might be a chip of the shoulder of Marc A......
This is a great shot - add some light drama and it's a winner - did you have a similar comp in evening or early morning light ?

Outstanding composition. You have the gift!

Another great shot. My only suggestion would be to crop just a tad off the bottom to remove those flowers that are touching/running off the bottom of the frame.

You've got a good eye for balancing a composition. Cheap tripods will work, too! My first tripod was $20. A real steal in my opinion!
What happened to your 30D? I share your frustration--my 5D never came up from a complete submersion (albeit brief) in a creek...
I think I might have a similar comp with better evening color but im not sure...the best color was to the left of this frame that evening.
Mark, I agree with you on the crop, I was thinking about that and im glad you pointed that out also.
Mike: When I was taking some lightning pictures last week all of a suden I stared to get the "error 99" on my lcd. Ive tried everything but cant get it to take a shot without the error coming up. Its a good thing I live 15 minutes from the Canon service center in Irvine...so ill have to drop it off one of these days...too bad my warranty is up though

Very nice, Khristian! Love the composition, and you've kept everything in focus, too. It looks about one degree tilted to the left (e.g., rotate about a degree clockwise, and that will keep the lake from draining out of the picture)
