Has anyone bought from a Hongkong |Camera shop through EBAY? If so what is the experience? I am looking to get a 40D from Digitalrev, any input appreciated
Rene de Heer
I have bought from Digirev and URgalaxy - both no problems with anything.

I also have bought from both of the above, again no probs whatsoever. I bought my
200-400mm from there and also my Sig 150 macro. I prefer urgalaxy because you don't get charged customs with him whereas I have done with Digitalrev.
Received my 40d from URGALAXY yesterday and they posted the day before!
Two days from post to arrive.
Excellent.
Cheers

Hi Renee,
I have bought loads of material from Hong Kong through Hong Sien Kwee. His e-mail adress is hongsien64@yahoo.com, he speaks Dutch and English and can be trusted. Also he is allways honoust if a product is cheaper elsewhere he won't sell the item to you.
Just send him an e-mail to inform if he has the camera you are looking for and most of the times it will save you a lot of money!
Best,
Jeroen Stel

Have used URGALAXY quite a few times all without problems. I may get a 40D from them in the next few days

Thanks for your help guys, just ordered a 40D and a 580 EX 2 flash through Urgalaxy.

Would not touch UR galaxy with the proverbial bargepole! All ok until things go wrong, then they don't want to know. They could not be bothered to answer any emails & i had to go through the dispute process to get my money back. If you do buy from Hong kong, make sure you do not use air mail. Use a courier with a tracking facility such as Fed-ex. At least then you will know that it is on its way.

International warranty on lenses but not on camera bodies-if there is a problem with the body it will have to be shipped back to HK

As an update to my post further up I decided to pre-order a 40D from Amazon.co.uk, a bit more to pay than the eBay prices (we don't pay VAT here in Guernsey so the Amazon price with free P&P works out quite good) but worth it imo in case of a warranty issue.

I bought my D2Xs from digital rev as well as flash and lens, and great service, they also paid the import duty back to me.

Hi Rene
A lot of people buy through Kerso (he imports to Scotland, avoiding any customs issues)
