Helges cracking bendy-beaked snipe shot, reminded me that i had this shot from late spring, showing similar beak-bending. Not as bent as Helge's, but it adds a bit of interest to the shot IMO.
Yet again, i found myself a bit too close for comfort for the x2, but its tempting not to retreat, when the opportunity arises

Hello Alan
Super image, and the fill flash works well. Maybe a little tight at the top to be very critical, but that can soon be sorted anyway.
Best wishes

Alan - cracking image and great flash control
There's tight to the frame, and too tight - this to me is the former, if that.
If you think it's a bit too central then it would be easy enough to clone in a bit at the top and some down the left side, but I think it's a clonking image just as it is
Hi Alan,
I think you're well and truely setting the standard with your Purple Sandpiper shots, both this one and your previous one.
Love the action and the blue backdrop makes for a really attractive setting.
The raised foot and slight motion blur works a treat and I find the use of a bit of fill in flash gives a very welcome bit of extra sparkle.
Excellent quality and really well processed too.

Splendid Alan, ticks all the right boxes, even if it is a touch tight...

Hi Alan,
A super image , super detail and the pose is very nice , will be risking life and limb out on Filey Brigg in the very near future trying to photograph these super little waders.
Kind regards
Andy...

Hi Alan
A great image, I like the behaviour in the shot, makes a change from a standard pose. A bit too tight but still it works well here because of the birds movement. Lovely.
