Still Life with Moose
I just got back from a seven day backpacking trip in the Uintas of Northern Utah. It was great, we hiked 60 miles, saw moose, mtn. goats, elk and deer and no other human for five of the days.

We were camping at Reader Lake when this moose walked over and started feeding on the edge. He eventually waded in to above his belly and would submerge his head for almost a minute while feeding on the bottom of the lake. We watched him for about twenty minutes.

D80, auto mode, f/5.6 @ 1/20 sec, 18-200mm lens @ 200, tripod.

Cool Mark, I wondered where you were lately.

Yeah, it was great.
Here we are in Painter Basin. The mountain right behind me is Kings Peak, the highest point in Utah at 13 thousand plus feet. By the time we got there it was cloudy, raining, thundering and lightning.

Looks like a lot of fun Mark. Amazing how fast the weather can turn up in the mountains.

The "no other human for 5 days" part sounds like the highlight of the trip. Look forward to seeing what you brought back.

Sweet moment captured !! Congrats on a nice get away. I'd rotate this a tad CCW to level it. Everything else is sweet...... looking forward to more!
