Alcedo atthis season
20D, 400/2.8 + 2x, ISO400, 1/250 @ f10, A-327 + BH1, ACR4.1 + CS3.

Hi,

Well it seems to be Kingfisher season, following on from Phil Shaws super image, some years ago I was 'given' this location in east Sussex, long ago it had been developed for photography with the remains of at least four hides and rudimentary ways of placing perches.

Up untill last year I had been slowly working to get it workable again, as you can appreciate I had no option but to drop what I was doing, decided today to take a trip out, mainly to see if the Fallow deer are still prevalent (yes), and was pleased to find that nothing had altered from my last visit. Its a five mile boggy walk so made sure that I had everything with me....

Not sure if this is correct to say.... but no focus errors at all, old gear and my 400 front focuses like crazy I'm also old fashioned so I manual focus 90% of the time...

All the best

Phil

Beautiful picture Phil, the colours are just right on this one, and the clean background really focusses the eye on the bird.

Cheers,

Dan

lovely pose and colours, i don't usually say this but maybe a tighter crop would be nice, just because there is no environment for interest and it is such a beautiful bird

Super shot Phil :toast:

Great pose, and a composition suited to framing and wall hanging. I would love it to be on my wall, but hopefully one day i shall have my own {probably wishful thinking though :smile: }

Hi Phil

A quality image (as always). Maybe the KF is a tad too central in the photo, I feel a crop could help the composition a bit.

Lovely image all the same. :toast:

cheers
