Hi to all,
Red Grouse , photographed this morning , I've been asked not to reveal the location as this is a totally wild rogue bird.
A very big thankyou to John for the opportunity to photograph this bird and for the use of his 28-135 , cheers mate.
Also thanks to Glyn for driving us all the way there (and not buying me cuppa )
A fine shot of the bird in a wonderful setting. If the detail is there in the original raw file it may be worth trying to get a little detail in the sky if that's possible. Failing that a thin black outline would work well to seperate the image from the pale background.

Very nice, i agree with justin about the sky, but WOW that must be one friendly bird to allow you to get so close!

Hi Andy
Cracking image in a great setting, maybe just a little too central!

Wonderful shot, Andrew - with some great colors. Only nit is it being a bit centralized.

Hi Andy
Lovely shot. Would prefer the bird slightly off centre and ideally without the white sky as a background, prefer the heather/moorland background.
Otherwise nice work. Not often you get to use a 28-135 for bird photography.

the bird is maybe a bit central in the frame but that is entirely subjective.
also i wouldn't take anything off the left side though because of the sharp heather there
Great sense of place, thanks to the inclusion of a large area of habitat.
