Wind River Range
Howdy!
My wife and I just returned from Wyo's Wind River Range - we had a great 6 day walk ~ although our backpacks were way too heavy with food, camera gear, and water that we foolishly carried the first several days. We realized that with 1,300 lakes we could get water anytime we wanted. Duh!

The loop was up New Fork Canyon to Lozier Lakes, then east past Clark Lake, up to Green Lakes ( a very sweet high spot just short of Summit lake), across rolling country to Palmer Lake and Doubletop Mtn. and down through the forest to our starting point at the New Fork lakes Narrows. We only needed rain coats on the last day while hiking out and watched the full moon track across the sky each night.

This pic is alpenglow over the northern part of the range from Lozier Lakes. The highest peak is Gannett, Wyo's tallest.

Very nice, Dave! Makes me want to go back - especially those clouds in the first shot.

Well, you're in good (or bad) company. When Scott Bacon, Jack Brauer and hiked in last summer, I had a pack that was right around 80 lbs, including my LF gear. Ouch. I took way too much food, and probably more film than I ever would have needed, but having been there before, I knew how spectacular it is up there, and didn't want to run short. {sigh}. Next trip - llamas!

That moonshot is wonderful, the more I look at it the more I like it, thanks for sharing Dave.
