A five shot pano of the Uinta's Painter Basin.
In this photo, Kings Peak is at my back and I'm looking back down to where the first photo I posted was taken.
This photo also shows pretty typical weather in the Uinta. The day started out crystal clear, then a few clouds started forming, then a thunder storm moved through and then it got nice again. We could pretty much always see it raining somewhere off in the distance the whole time.
Also, this spot is sort of the starting off point for climbing Kings Peak. I'll bet there are fifty people there this weekend. Since we were there in the middle of the week, we didn't see a soul.

This one isn't doing anything for me Mark, just nothing grabbing at me.

The print is actually pretty nice. It's obviously much larger and there is lots of cool detail. It's not an art shot but more of a "Hey, check this out, this is where we were and this is what it looked like" kind of shot.
I appreciate the scale here, Mark, with the multiple shot pano. That's nice work. And the scale is obvious with the hiker in there, too. There are lots of land forms and looks like quite a variety of color that this little jpeg may not be conveying too well. It must've been grand up there!

Thanks, Catherine, I tried to post it bigger but it seems like the forum server shrunk it back down.

Mark, you got what you were looking for in this shot. The pano has a great field of view and the person in the picture adds a sense of scale. I get a good sense of place from the shot, even if it doesn't have "art picture" lighting. I've never been in terrain like that--the sheer openness and size of it must be impressive.

I should find a way to post it bigger, it's actually quite nice. It'll be a great gift to Mike Rockwell, the guy in the photo.
