Black and White Printing for Digital Files

I am not setup to do printing at home. I have found I cannot afford to do the printing myself, and the front end cost of the equipment and all is cost prohibitive at this point.

To make things worse, now I need to get a quality print of three black and white images for a gallery and the printing service I use turns out mushy black and whites.

Any suggestions on a quality BW lab that is reasonable?

Thanks,
MD

Don't know if they do digital BW, but Moon Photo in Seattle is a premier BW printer. No web site, but particulars are:

Moon Photo (black and white lab)
7704 Greenwood Ave., N. 98103
206-783-3377

If they don't do digital printing, I bet they can recommend someone who meets high quality standards.

Hi Michael,
I can recommend a fellow NPNer that does excellent BW printing, Michael Gordon.
Check out the link on his website http://www.michael-gordon.com/ under 'photographers' for printing details.
He has high standards so his prints always look brilliant.

Though I've never had Mr. Gordon do any printing for me yet, he is the one that I'm going to have print a file for me in the future. I have no doubts that the quality and care he would take into printing would equal, and in most cases exceed, those of other labs. So, I'm going to agree with Scott's recommendation.

I have a Michael Gordon B&W print and it is a beauty. He does great work. I also have an MG paper profile that works great and was unbelievably reasonably priced.
