Interesting shot, i like the green frames the dragon fly. Looks good to me.

I like this, it's a bit different for the usual dragonfly shots. As Paul said, the green frames the shot nicely.

Cheers,

Dan.

A really nice nice photo with interesting composition but I am a bit curious.

I am given to understand that the 40D has the same digic processor and chip that is in the 1D Mark 3 (which I have). Assuming that is correct, I am surpised at the amount of noise there is in this photo given that the ISO was only 200asa. I get less noise at 800asa on my 1D Mark3's.

Is this a large crop from the original file or have it pulled it from under exposure by any chance?

As I say, a nice photograph anyway

Very much like the way the dragonfly and leaf are isolated amongst the sea of green.
Perhaps just a very slight curves adjustment to give the midtones a fraction more contrast.

Very nice image-like the comp and colours-very sharp where it needs to be as well

I like how the main subject is framed by the OOF foliage. Colours look a little flat and washed-out, to me.

As others,I like the oof foliage frame and it's super sharp on the head. :toast:

Nice, might just bring the shadows in very slightly, great setting and like the limited DoF.
