Bit of a more 'species-indicative' shot than ARDs'
I was hoping to photograph Goldcrests yesterday afternoon, there's a few of them in a mixed wood just a few miles away. After two hours of playing a very one sided game of hide 'n seek resulting in a 4Gb card full of nothing, and a shutter so underused it was begining to heal up - I came accross a few of these little ladies sunning themselves along the edge of the road at the side of the wood.
Not what I was intending, but certainly a few keepers from the encounter
Really into Dragons now - I can't get enough of 'em
Many thanks to PhilH and Phillip T for the Steve Brooks book recomendation - great book and really interesting to read too
Techs
D2Xs + Sig 180mm
ISO 200
1/250th @ f8 (2 shot stack)
PP in CapOne Pro + CS3
Thanks for looking
PS - should point out this is a 2 shot stack in CS3 to get the DoF

I agree, dragonflies make excellent subjects. It's a shame they're only around for half the year though! I like this picture, although a slightly shallower dof may have helped isolate it a it more.
Cheers,
Dan.

Very nice Andy.... (Steve Brookes is a colleague ).... interesting you combined two exposures for DoF... google 'CombineZM' its the program Alan uses and that I use for our high macro work.... it is a super piece of prgramming by Mr Hadley and free to boot....
