What do you think of this one from earlier in the year at Slimbridge? I'm pretty sure it's a Bewick's Swan rather than a Whooper, as it was quite small. Criticisms welcome!

Hi Dan,
I like this image very much. Although I think to improve it you could place the eye slightly higher and to the left, so as to comply with the 'rule of thirds'. This would also mean that the remainder of the image would be filled with the Swan's white plumage.
Great shot as is though!
Chris.

Nice image Dan
Agree totally with Chris on the comp, plus there's a lot of detail gone from the plumage and it would have been nice with a more distinct catch light in the eye.
But all the elements are tere - nice one

Thanks for the advice both of you. I'll have a look at the other images i took and see if they are any with a different framing.
Cheers,
Dan.

Hi Dan great image and I agree with Chris

Agree with Chris regarding the comp: the black bit at the top is a bit distracting. You could also try a crop that leaves the eye towards the top left. Exposure and detail look excellent.
