Newbie - help posting images
I am a new member and have only posted a hand full of photos. I have noticed that several of my photos look totally different when open in CS2 or viewed in the light table of IView. I suspect I am doing something wrong with the color space when saving these jpegs for posting here. Can someone give me a few pointers?

Other sample Photos can be found:

Hope the link works - particularly the photos titled Monarch and Fall Reflections are no where near this flat, they are much more saturated when viewed as stated above.

David, I can't get the link to work on my computer.

David - The embedded colour profile on the image you have posted above is titled "Wide Gamut RGB". It will open up much more saturated in PS than shown above. Before saving your final PS'd version do a colour space "convert to profile" (Image - mode - convert to profile) and select Destination Colour Space Profile to be sRGB. This will maximize that gamut space rather than truncating.

To the PS Colour Space Gurus out there, if I have stated anything incorrectly above please correct me because I don't want to be giving Dave any false info.

Peter is correct, and if your using Photoshop CS3 save for web function it will automaticly convert to sRGB, you need to do it manually in all the previous versions though

David,

I don't know if you have solved this problem by now. As I was having similar problems with CS3 I did some research and found my answer in the save for web function. After converting to sRGB as suggested by others, if your right click on the image in the convert to web dialogue box you will see four choices, uncompensated colour, Windows colour, Mac colour and assigned document colour. As I seem to get the best colour with assigned but more accurate shadow detail with Windows.

The link posted in the first comment does not work for me either on my Mac. It gives the Nature Photographers banner and a little more data like forums etc and then the rest of the page is blank and the url space goes white meaning it has completed loading all it is going to load. I wrote this for others who manage to find this thread.
Happy shooting y'all,
Troup

I might be wrong about this, but wasn't sRGB replaced with ei-sRGB/i-sRGB/sRGB v4?

Mark, this is a very old thread. I am not sure what the point is of your question. Would you please clarify for us?
