Turnstone
20D, 400/2.8 + 2x, ISO400, 1/500 @ f10, Kirk Low pod (I find it better on our pebble beaches) + 393, ACR4.1 + CS3.

Hi,

First thing this morning we had some very nice light here in the south east and I made the best of it on the east Kent coast with a flock of co-operative turnstones, this one is from around 7.30....

One thing I noticed is that the beaches seem to be strewn with huge amounts of rubbish, often difficult to keep out of shot.

All the best

Very nice low viewpoint shot, it looks a tad 'warm' on my monitor, but thats not a serious nit, I like it.

Sad to have to agree about the amount of garbage strewn about, much the same at many of the Norfolk beach sites I have been at this week.
I have also been shooting from low level, using my 'Frypod'....... an ASDA teflon coated frying pan that I've engineered to fit either a Wimberley gimbal or Benbo ball head to, it works great and slides on sand and pebbles easily. More info and pix here http://ngbdigital.blogspot.com/

Cheers....

Nigel.... I do have a similar set-up, but based on a roasting tray, a lot of the eastern Kent deserted beaches are pebbles but with, normally, a steep incline, so I find it easier to dig the three/four feet of the low pod into it, anything with a smooth base has a tendancy to migrate downhill.

Andy... yes, I checked the tides just before retiring to bed and in a way managed to get myself something like sorted, glad I did because I always enjoy the coast....

All the best
