This little gator was very protective of his mommy.
She was herding around about 14 others.
Hard to keep track of them in all that duckweed!

Man, that's like a look back into the Cretaceous! Cool shots, Bill!

Thanks, Todd.
I think this weekend the TX coast humidity and temperature also simulated the Cretaceous climate!
I made the mistake of transporting my camera pack on the back seat, instead of trunk.
Well, when I got to the trail, my air conditioned lens fogged up immediately and it took an hour before I could use it.
Never had that happen before!

Those are wild photos, Bill! Add some miniature Japanese village, and i think we might have something marketable (care to sell me the rights?)

I'll bet that little guy would get you cursing to let go. Ouch! Are these the gators in Sloans Lake?

Those little guys are sure cute, and you caught them in an extremely cute pose. I can understand why some unthinking people want to take them home for pets. Great shots!!

Mel, these are from Brazos Bend State Park - just a few miles south of Sloans Lake.
Don, I don't think anyone will be taking these home for pets.
One lady, who thought the babies were cute, walked right up to mommy and bent down to get a closer look. Mommy leaped about 8 feet and stopped just short of her. Fortunately she wasn't hungry - just wanted to make a point. Would have made a great safety video. That's why I had stacked TCs on a 500mm lens, even though they were just off the trail. The park staff have since installed some plastic fencing.

Cool shots, Bill. Great feel in that second one! Funny story about the lady. It's amazing how stupid people can be.

Great shots... I really like the first one.

Fun shots Bill. The second one looks like a hand in a sock puppet. But I bet those little teeth would still draw some blood!!!
