This summer's drought is really taking a toll. This cove of Lake James is usually shallow enough for me to explore in hip waders but now it looks like a waterhole waiting for the rainy season. This is only about halfway from the normal shoreline so you get the idea..

Oh and just a note-the thing standing up at the waterline is an old x-mas tree tied to a cement block to make fish nesting habitat. It is usually mostly under the water.

Wow that is low, I'm seeing the same thing with Lake Norman and Lake Wylie, and the Catawba in Charlotte - we really really need some rain!!. Nice image BTW!.

Hey Nick! I thought you had left us-if you hadn't moved by now you should just stay
Yes I suppose the Catawba would be low since Lake james is the start of it

Terrible scene but great image! We just had a "Tropical Storm" hit us and they predicted biblical rains.....we got 1/4".

Hey Leann, we're still trying to move, but it's been a Dog trying to sell the house with the market as it is . We'll probably still be here for the Fall, so we'll have to try and meet up!. I hope the drought doesn't put a damper on the Fall colours!!.

Nice shot, Leann.
We have the same problem here - going on two years.

Cool image Leann. I'd be tempted to clone out the tire tracks and the phone poles (if you want this to look a little more "artistic" vs documentary). I like the perspective and the colors.
Yeah, Nick, I thought you were long gone out west. If you're still around this fall, maybe we can all get out and shoot!

Love it, Leann. Looks more like a western landscape than the (formerly) green, green hills of home.

Very nice, although of course also kind of frightening.
