There is a great restaurant in Mosier where we like to have breakfast, The Good River. It's becoming a Hood River tradition to park your car at the west end of the Old HIghway and ride your bikes to Mosier for breakfast.
Ellen is a week away from being ten, and she knows how to ride a two wheeler, but we didn't think she could handle the twelve mile round trip and the hills so she rode on the trailer bike.
I had my P&S and took pictures as I rode alongside.

Great shot, Mark!
I think it's cool that you and your family do things like this......I sure hope when my daughter grows up that she enjoys the outdoors as much as I do!

Mark, it won't be long before Ellen is up front and you're the one on the trailer bike.

If you look at her bike, she has real big gear in the front and a real small one in the back. They would be going up a hill and Ellen would stand up and start pumping the pedals and they'd blaze past me. She has a lot of power back there.

Don't you kind of taste your breakfast again on the ride home? All kidding aside, it sounds like a good time.

Mark: Cheerish these times my friend. Before you know it, Ellen will be in College. After that she will start bringing someone home; then Dad suddenly gets to play second fiddle. Aaah, the times of watching your chlidren grow up in front of you.

Way cool Mark. My son is 12 and does many of the hikes and backpack trips with me so I can relate. It's a lot of fun.

My oldest heads to college this year, and my youngest in two years. Arrrrrgh! Way to capture those great moments.
