Hey up new free software, viewNX is on the USA site for download, super fast image browsing no nonsense.
Like it even though I have CS3 bridge.

Initial probings show a fast easy front end which has no frills and does just what it says it does!
Images render better than in ACDSEE 9 photomanager, but then it is Nikon useing Nikon,
to link to an external editor it looks like it needs to be registered.
so far I am quite impressed for free?

This is quick, very simple to use and all for free!
Paul, you can link to an external editor, it's just Nikon's terminology you have to "register" which editor you want to link to.
I've had a bit more of a play: It links to CS2 ok, but only starts Aperture, you have to then go find the image again
Aperture isn't an image editor like CS2 - that's why you need to go find it again. Your workflow should be the other way around - Find in aperture first, export the master and then use Nikon-whatsit on it...

Thanx for the heads-up Tim - will give it a blast. I usually use CapOne pro but jeez louise does it use some ram

This is a nice download Tim - Thanks
If you want to avoid Camera Raw as the entry to CS3/2 set up an export DIR on a drive other than your C drive then click the export image tag in View and export file as a 16 or 8 bit tiff to that dir.
Then open the tiff direct in CS3/2 and avoid CameraRaw altogether.
That's what I've done because I can't find a function to 'export AND open' - and I want to avaoid CamRaw like the plague

I've always used Nikon View for browsing my raw NEF files - by far and away the quickest thing to use. Will download the new software straight away - thanks for the heads up. If it's integrates seamlessly with Capture NX it should be awesome.
