I just did a 6 day loop trek to all of the Sierra High Camps (they start out of Tuolumne Meadows and the loop is about 60 miles). Great weather for hiking (a handful of clouds in 6 days), not so great for photography. Here is one of my shots, I have a few more posted at Yosemite High Sierra Camp Trek

Very nice Paul. 60 miles - 6 days! Damn that's a lot of hiking!!! I especially like 15, 16, 17, and 20. Oh and 25 is fascinating... what a bleak landscape. Almost eerie in a way.

Thanks, guys! This is not that tough of a loop (esp compared to what folks here like Jack, Erik, etc do), as what is so so cool about it is that you carry only day gear - the high camps feed you dinner/breakfast, and provide shelter (including 1920 style wool blankets). So.. your pack is a LOT lighter, at least to start out with and then you fill it up with camera gear .
It is a fantastic trip through landscape that is a LOT different than what we normally see in Colorado - there is very little tundra or aspens - it's either granite or evergreens, and you can clearly see the demarcations where the glaciers flattened the land and the water made it very steep. Very cool.

Nice stuff Paul. I like #13 and #18 the best. My only nit is that I would like to see more caption info about the points along the trail where these were taken.

Thanks, Joshua and that is great feedback, I will try and put more descriptive labels when I get a chance..

Sounds like a great way to travel in the Sierras.
I checked out their web site. Did you enter their lottery to get your dates?

Wow, that's puttin some miles on! I think you got some good images out of the trip. I really like the pine with the sierra granite in the background. That image is sweet.

Nice stuff Paul. Sounds like a great trip! The image you posted is my fav, and I can see what you mean about the very different landscape in the area...

Again, thanks everyone, and I'd highly recommend the trip to anyone who wants to get into the backcountry with camera gear and not have to carry so much weight. More details can be found here: Sierra High Camps
