Pete Cairns , who is based in the heart of Scotland's Cairngorms National Park, is a freelance nature photographer with a deep fascination for our relationship with the natural world. In addition to documenting Europe's high-profile wildlife species, his work focuses on a diverse range of issues such as wildlife management, ecological restoration, eco-tourism and evolving land-use regimes. In Tooth & Claw, the realisation that wildlife politics is not about wildlife but about us, comes to the fore. North Shots Tooth and Claw
Please support this event.
Remember, make a good weekend of it, as the wildfowl (Barnacle Geese and Whoopers) will be back in the Solway in Caerlaverock!
Now the process of getting a place Apologies in advance if the below appears a bit draconian but there is an commercial outlay that needs met therefore firm/paid attendance is required as it reduces the outlay from my bank account
1) Places are limited in number (50) and due to the venue's HSE and security arrangements your attendance requires prior confirmation by Tom. This is a requirement of the venue - so no gate crashers please
2) Email conference 'at' naturephotography.co.uknow if you want to attend; this reserves you a place in the relevant queue. Please declare if you are a Paying Member (membership icon must be in your signature), if you are a Guest and no declaration will be taken to indicate that you are an Anybody. Configure your email to ask for a read receipt if you require one.
3) Tickets are priced at £27.50 per member and £32.50 per Guest/Anybody payment.
4) A member may ask for one additional ticket at the same time as themselves at the appropriate rate. This member must pay for both tickets on the one cheque. Please name the second person (for the venues list) in the initial email.
5) Payment is by only by cheque. I will supply my address details when I reply to your initial email. Note: My address is not the same a last year.
6) Current Members (and their second ticket) will get preference until Oct 1st 2007 past that Members and Guests will get preference until the 30th October, past that everybody has equal priority.
7) VERY IMPORTANT: All cheques must have your name, address, landline number and email address on the back of the cheque. I will confirm receipt of any cheque by replying to the email address on the back of the cheque, no email address == no reply == no place.
8) Once the check is paid, in the event of you being unable to turn up, I will only refund the money if we can get somebody else to take your ticket(s).
9) Cheques will be cashed on, or around, the start of December when the Conference is confirmed.
To clarify
Members are those that pay a subscription/membership. Guests are those that are registered to post, and have posted in the last, year but don't pay a subscription/membership. Anybody is anybody not registered.
It is intended that any surplus this year is used to offset the cost of next years venue.
If you seek any further clarification on the above please PM Tom.
Cheers

Now that looks like a good line-up.
Pity I'll be giving my beaters their day then, otherwise I'd be very tempted

Hello Tom
That looks a great line-up, count me in. This years was a great success and I apperiate the hard work you have put in especially with all those sleepless nights you are getting at the moment. I really hope we can get bums on seats, its nice meeting with fellow photographers.
If at all possible can I ask a few more of you to re-assess your attendance. I understand that some just cannot make it, but some may be able to, either way I have to make the decision in a weeks time.
