The prettiest thing with four legs on earth I reckon.

I agree, and a wonderful capture of it too!

Tim - I always felt that title fell to a Roe Doe - well, I think slightly differently now - nice one
Rimmel and Max Factor would kill for the secret of those eyelashes
One thing I've got to say though - all these Africa images so far look a bit 'thin' colour-wise on my monitor (yes it is cal'd ).

That's a really nice animal. Ah factor 10 I'd say It's nice to see some of the less well-know African species too.

Is this better Andy?

A bit - I've had a VERY QUICK play with it in CS3 but it's still not right
Looking back thru your pre-Africa posts your images look perfect matey - so I beg the real STUPID question - have you actually calibrated this laptop monitor Tim
Don't shout at me if you have - only the blackest part of the right eyeball that I could find on your jpeg has quite a lot of green and blue in it.
But maybe it's just me - still a cracking image

Well I have with the software it comes with, but I don't possess a proper gizmo. From what I'm seeing it must be fairly subtle, it is quite a light coated antelope and the sun was low.
Thanks for trying.

What a beautiful looking creature, and a cracking shot to boot
Of the reposts Andy's has the slight edge.

Hi Tim - mega cute time is it! Looks pretty good(but with an overall yellowish caste) on my as you know crappy work monitor, but it looks wonderful on my Macbook, there is a delicacy of palette which I find really pleasing. Not tried it on the Cinema. J

Tim, I know the african light can sometimes make images look a bit washed out, so it must be quite hard work to process these to appeal to most. On my crappy work monitor, I thought Andy's efforts looked the best out of the 3, but on my crappy home monitor, they all look fine. Superb image of quite a rarely seen buck. I have a special affinity for African wildlife so keep 'em coming

Well, speaking from the experience of seeing many of these in the wild, I'd say that the colours and saturation are spot on. The only slight nit is that it is a Steenbok (missed an e in the title)

Hi Tim. A great portrait of a beautiful animal. Seems a shame to see it on the tooth pick of a big cat! The colour cast is very, very subtle - don't worry about it. I've had issues with some of my images shot in Africa with low/dull light. I think this looks perfectly good to me. The first post just needed a bit more punch and contrast. One thing I did notice (as with India) is that the light has a high proportion of magenta and maybe cameras compensate by adding green hue? for a fine portrait

I would give anything for eyelashes like that!
