Awesome sunburst and beautiful scene Todd. It looks like you are on the E side and a bit lower. I'm impressed that the scene isn't covered with footprints.

Awesome Todd!!! I love how everything fades to dark. Very unique shot.

Cool shot Todd. Very nice lighting, but is that moire across the middle of the picture as the foreground dune dips down or just jpg artifacts? Perhaps this is one image the 5D didn't handle texture too well on.

Geez, Todd, this is REALLY REALLY GOOD! And no Caudle Clouds . I love the varying contrast and texture as one moves across the sand away from the light, it shows incredible depth in the photograph. And some awesome eye-popping god beams!

Good eye, Craig. I hadn't noticed that. It appears to be a product of downsizing and converting to jpeg. I checked the original file, and it appears when viewed at smaller sizes on my monitor, but when enlarged to 50% and beyond, it disappears.

Yea, I dont think the likely culprit is the 5D - I *thought* Canon has a pretty strong AA filter on the 5D.

I really like this one, Todd. I agree with the previous comments about the sand textures. It looks to me like perhaps wind coming over the top of the foreground dune has created some directional changes in the patterns - just great! The backround dunes have just enough light on them too. Beautiful color to the sand as well. That's purdy.

Todd, I love the color in the sand and the textures. Great shot.

And once again, Todd, I'm insanely jealous of your talent, opportunity, and results. D@mn, that's a nice shot. Thanks for sharing.

Todd, btw what lens did you use for this as it seems flare was well under control with the sun in the frame. Glad to hear it was just a downsizing artifact instead of moire too, it'd be a shame on this terrific image.

Todd, I second what every one else said! An outstanidng image! I love that sun burst.

Sweeeeeeeeeetttttt !!!!!!!!!! Love the balance in the foreground in relation to the sky. Perfect, would make an eye-catching cover shot.

I really like the comp. The lighting seems uneven (darker around the edges), but maybe that's how it was. Thanks for posting.
