I doubt that most people can tell the difference between the final output.
It really falls to personal taste & which of the software packages suits your method of working the best. Lightroom is a good all-rounder and seems well suited to ad-hoc 'processing' of small numbers of images. CaptureOne (3.7.x) is great for processing individual shots, but really excels when fed large numbers of images for adjustment & development in a big batch - I've used it to process 200+ shots in one go. Download the 30 day trials of each and see which you prefer using. (probably best to stay away from C1 V4 at the moment tho' ).

I used to be a C1 advocate until I trialled Lightroom and have now been using that exclusively for some monthsnow.
I personally prefer the Lightroom interface I process huge numbers of images through it at a time (regulalrly 900+ in a batch) and whilst it is noticeably slower than C1 at present, it isn't that slow that it makes a huge difference overall. Time is less important than image quality and I simply 'feel' the TIFFs produced by Lightroom have a better depth and tonal range (very scientific!)
I recently went back and tried C1 again just to make sure it wasn't my imagination and I still prefer Lightroom.. horses for courses I suppose
I agree it is slower that C1 V3.7, that said it is faster than the previous Lightroom and very useable, - very noticable when you are apply development settings to a batch of images.
Lets see what C1 V4 brings .... but I hold out little hope for at the moment ( some 2 weeks since it was released and reported) They have failed to even fixed the 'mega crash' problem in the Beta ..what's worse they ain't communicating with the Beta testers on this issue via their own beta forum
