Dunlin
Hi to all,
Dunlin , photographed on Filey beach this morning , I think the colouration of the plumage is superb , makes for one lovely looking bird , got absolutely soaked whilst taking this shot , sneaky things those waves , turn your back for a second and they've got you.

Levels , Usm ( 150,0.5,1 x2) S/h , Contrast , very slight crop.

Canon 20D , 500F4IS , Gitzo1325 , W/Hv2
1/250th @ F8 iso200 jpeg

Apologies for the lack of comments in the last week or so , spent most of last week down in Suffolk on Dunwich heath looking for the elusive Dartford warbler , only managed a couple of shots at long range so nothing worth posting , maybe next time eh!!

All comments welcome

Kind regards

Andy...

Hi Andy....

Know what you mean about those waves  ..... Its a lovely shot but just a bit too central for my taste..... would have loved an exposure perhaps slightly later with the far foot out of the water, but off course I have no idea if that was possible... one thing I would do is remove the light patches from that lovely coloured water (that is not great advise but just for presentation here  )

Hi Andy

One of the nicest shots of Dunlin I have seen and the water colour is fantastic - agree with Phil it is a tad central!

I'm relitivly new to birding so the first time I get to see the various species of these little waders I'm amazed at their beauty that you don't really notice from a far.

Agree with the nit about the position but still it's a lovely shot, and yes I can sympathize with you about the getting wet bit
