Went up on the downs to day first thing, and found this beautiful little bird sitting on a post, along with a few of his/her friends,I have never seen one before so spent a bit of time with them,on a great morning....

Is this an "ordinary Wheatear" I know there's more than one type? Nice shot.

Hi Tim.
Funny you should say that,I looked up Wheatear in the Collins bird guide, but I could not see one that matched the colours,so just assumed that with the great light this morning, all the colours were very vibrant, can any one else throw any light on this ????

Hi Stewart,

A nice image of this Wheatear, I think I would settle for Oenanthe oenanthe, the great light appears to be accenting the colours....

Seems ages since I last spotted a Wheatear.
This one certainly has been caught in lovely morning light.

A bit contrasty for me, but good colour and composition with the bird looking into space. Like the turn of head :toast:
