It's very abstract, Richard - I'm not a good judge on abstract composition (to say the least), but the color is great, and I like this composition. I can't tell if this is a soft focus, or petals that don't photograph sharply -- or maybe Helicon Focus is softening the image? For me, it's just a bit fuzzy.

Not bad but I'd suggest cloning the hair in central Left of frame out. A little more contrast would help also. Looks like you needed even more exposures at different lengths because I clearly see sharp areas and blurry areas that look almost like rings thru the frame....

I reworked the image to add some contrast and up the color a little. I'm very much a beginner at close ups, especially of flowers, and your suggestions are appreciated.

I like it, Richard, but the program has failed your attempts for sharp focus throughout by evidence of the sharp/blur bands across the image. If I were you, maybe embrace the narrow DOF? It would also be abstract...although differently than you maybe wanted.

I also like this. I'm not totally sure if it's a framer but nice non the less. What macro are you shooting with/ I have the Sigma 105 macro and it's a mighty fine lens.

Hello Erik,

I have the Nikon macro, but I'm a beginner at using it. I'm in the early experiementation stage, and appreciate the feedback. It was so cloudy yesterday that I went to the market and purchased a couple of flowers to photograph on my front porch.
