Rio Grande Sunset
My wife and I just returned from a "non-photo" weekend in Taos, where I squeezed off maybe 10 pictures. This one is sunset over the Rio Grande Gorge bridge on highway 150 ( I know - "road shooter"!) It's an amazing view to either the north or south - this is to the north. I used a polarizer and stacked my 3, 2 and 1 stop split ND's for this shot. I also dropped my shutter release in the river, 650 feet below and laughed hysterically, like a crazy person as it disappeared into the abyss. The big problem shooting from this bridge is the traffic that inevitably comes right when the river turns gold at sunset. It's a very cool spot, though.

Better to drop one shutter release than drop three nd-grads! We'll have to get you to try to leave your grads in the camera bag and combining two exposures. This is a perfect candidate for that technique, with a really clean horizon that would make it pretty easy to do. Nice photo for a non-photo trip!
