Afternoon folks. long time no speak! Just finished the first edit from my Africa trip. Had a truly awesome time with cheetah+cubs, leopard+cubs, lion+cubs, eles, rhino, flamingo, hyena+cubs, eagles... but no sunsets! Not one! The only real disappointment was the cloudy afternoons.
Seems like I was not alone out there, judging by the posts from Kevin and Tim. Shame we didn't bump into one another. Today I have been converting my lion folder... only about 300 images! We had a couple of cracking sessions where the lions actually did something other than sleep. This was one of my favourites. It doesn't have the boldness of my portraits or the action of the hunt sequence, but the contextual setting makes it for me.

Hi Elliot,
A cracking image , nice to see so much habitat , gives a real sense of place if you know what I mean.
Regards

It's a good looking image Elliot. If it would be mine, I would clone out that leafless shrub/tree just behind lion (or use the chainsaw in the first place ).
Cheers,
Marko

Guess we were following each other around the same area with the same dismal weather. We should have put ID on our vehicles. Is it near 'lookout' or the Serena crossing? Nice to see a 'habitat shot' rather than the close in ones that I have been shooting/posting.

Hello and thanks for all the comments. Steve, I think we were miles apart. I stayed north of the Mara triangle for the majority and only spent 3 days in the government run reserve. This was taken in the Gorge Pride territory about half way between Musiara Gate and Aitong. How did your trip go? Drop me a mail.
