OK, I'm generally not one to tout the virtues of a particular camera, especially since I've been a Nikon user for over 30 years, but I picked up the new Canon G9 last week since I'm a new grandfather and needed something I could keep handy for quick grandaughter shots. I have never been as impressed with a camera as I am with this one! Great resolution and color, easy to use in both "point and shoot" and creative mode and tremendous results.

Now that ACR 4.2 has been released that "unofficially" supports the G9 and you can process the raw files in PSCS3 it's just almost unbeatable.

If you're looking for a great little pocket camera this one just can't be beat.

As always, C/C welcomed.

Really a very nice scene, Dave. I might tone down the blue channel just a tad, but that could be my monitor.

Dave, great scene, I really like the bird on the stump.

Thanks, Bill and Tom.

Bill, I started to bring down the blue, but changed my mind simply because what is on your screen is just what I saw that morning. There was an incredible contrast between the red/pink hues of the sunrise and the blue of the cludless sky reflecting off the water that made the blue literaly leap out. Every time I lowered the blue channel in PP it just made the scene go flat from what I saw.

Tom, as to the bird, he's a great blue heron that frequents this particular part of the lake, so much so that the residents of the area have named him "Larry". Not too sure where the name comes from, but he makes a willing photo subject.

Have a great day to all!

PS > to both Bill and Tom, if I haven't said so before, I love your websites. GREAT work from both of you!

Dave, I like the looks of this scene with the cooler blue tones. Good work!

What a serene and lovely way to start a new day! The softness of the images lends itself well to the overall feeling of awakening. Well done Dave!
