Ring of Brodgar - Orkney
D200 w. Nikon 18-200 VR @ 28mm

ISO 400
CS3 - gradient mask & quadtone conversion

Noting Alan Bryant's observation that there are few b&w images on the forum, here is what was a somewhat mundane colour shot after a bit of CS3 work. I am new to landscapes and doing much in PS beyond sharpening, so comments gratefully recieved.

Malcolm, I tried to post B&W in the past, but this community is, ummmm B&W blind I guess .

I know this place and it's magic. And I like your image. Tint looks like some really old photos I remember.

Cheers,

Malcolm this is great and the toning makes the image ancient. :toast:

Hello Malcolm

I really like this shot I love the grainy feel to the image, I am the opposite to you and would like to go back to Orkney. It is completely different to the Shetlands.

Hi Malcolm

This shot is growing on me. I think the quadtone is done really nicely, looks like a an old fashioned style print and has a really great character to it. Composition is good, only nit would be I would like a bit more detail in the near stone which is lit from the side so some of the texture is lost in the shadows.

Nice work though and something different for the forum.

cheers
