Mark,
Remind me to show you my Lichen reference book sometime. It's god to see I am not alone in liking ( no pun) to photograph Lichen. For those of you who haven't tried it, it's not easy getting the right composition!
The striations of this rock really make the image work as well as the lichten sort of pointing sort of northeast.
very cool image.
I lichten it a lot!

Thanks, Jack, one day we hiked through probably a quarter mile of stuff like this.
A great abstract image. I love the lines on the rock and the comp perfectly captures the lichen patterns.

Lovely patterns Mark. Have you tried playing with this one in lab? It looks like it might be a candidate for adding more color contrast, although I would guess you may have to minimize the impact on the reds (maybe using the magenta Blend If slider?). Just a thought, nice shot regardless.

The Uinta is really cool. I haven't been there is years but I remember it well. This is nice comp texture, and color although I agree with John.
whoa, this is really a great abstract. love the stripes in the rocks- a graphic detail that contrasts well with the softness and curvy lines of the lichens.
